In early September, the Miami AI Summit had one confirmed speaker. On Oct. 23, organizers say, it was sold out.
More than 700 people attended the Miami AI Summit at the Loews Coral Gables Hotel, eMerge Americas said in a release. It described the day as a gathering for people who build, deploy and govern AI.
The numbers here come from organizers. The release was distributed as a paid announcement.
From One Speaker to a Full Day
MAIN reported the first name in September. Hugging Face CEO Clément Delangue was the first confirmed speaker.
The final list was broader. Leaders from Hugging Face, NVIDIA, AWS, Microsoft and SpaceX appeared, along with the U.S. Army’s T2COM, which handles training and doctrine.
Cal AI was on the speaker list too. Its co-founder, Zach Yadegari, raised $10 million this month for Persona, as MAIN reported.
The talks ranged from open-source models to AI in health care, enterprise change and national security.
Workshops and breakouts went hands-on. Topics included large language models, cloud, security, smart regions and workforce upskilling.
That mix is the point of a summit like this. Founders, buyers and government officials spend a day in the same building.
A Circuit, Not a Weekend
The summit was not a standalone event. It capped a six-week run from Miami AI Hub and eMerge Americas.
MAIN described that run as a circuit, not one conference. The events included an AI school phase, a pitch competition, a hackathon and a meetup.
Miami AI Hub, the community group behind much of the circuit, has held monthly Generative Gatherings since at least November 2024. MAIN reported that its speakers have included leaders from Apple, Nvidia, AWS and Baptist Health.
The old model was one big weekend, MAIN noted. The new one is a season.
The group also stood up the Florida AI Council this year, a policy advisory board.
Organizers now call the summit the kickoff to eMerge Americas 2027, set for March 2 to 4 in Miami Beach. The expo follows on March 3 and 4.
“Our ambition is to make Miami a place where the world comes to build with AI,” said Burhan Sebin, eMerge Americas’ chief AI officer.
He added that the conversations “are just the beginning.” Miami AI Hub and eMerge Americas plan to keep convening people year-round.
What a Full Room Proves
Attendance is a measure of demand. It shows Miami can fill a hotel ballroom with people who want to talk about AI.
It does not show what happens next. Pilots, hires and investments take longer than a day to appear.
A dense calendar helps founders. It gives them more chances to meet buyers and investors without leaving town.
MAIN argued in September that the pattern looks like a maturing ecosystem finding its shape. This summit gave that argument a larger audience.
The year-round promise is the real commitment. A single summit is easy to stage. A steady calendar is harder.
The test for the next one is simpler. Do the attendees come back with something to build?
The summit filled a room. The next step is filling a pipeline.
