Inside the Founding Index: Five Companies Defining Miami AI Companies

MAIN expands profiles for Togal.AI, FirmPilot, bundleIQ, Juxtapose and BootUp Studios in its first Founding Index feature. #MiamiTech #FoundingIndex #MiamiAI

Miami’s AI scene doesn’t have a shape problem — it has a visibility problem. The companies are here, across construction, legal, venture, knowledge work and entrepreneurship itself.

What’s been missing is a record that treats them as seriously as they treat their markets. This week, five companies in the MAIN index received the full treatment: verified, expanded, permanent profiles. Here’s why each one earned it.

Togal.AI — AI-powered pre-construction software built by estimators, for estimators: it reads blueprints and automates the measuring and pricing work that used to take weeks.

Founded in Miami in 2019 by former U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy — now founder and CEO — Togal holds five U.S. patents on construction AI, with six more pending, its engine trained on 100,000+ drawings labeled by architects and engineers. It's one of Miami's most decorated AI exports: an eMerge Americas startup-competition winner, a Big 5 Dubai pitch-competition winner, and on BuiltWorlds’ Pre-Construction 50 list multiple years running. FirmPilot — AI marketing built specifically for law firms, replacing agency guesswork with a patent-pending AI engine.

Miami-headquartered, with a $22M Series A-1 closed in February led by DeepWork Capital, and Thomson Reuters Ventures and HubSpot Ventures on the cap table — $27.25M raised to drag legal marketing out of the yellow-pages era. Profile →

bundleIQ — Nicholas Mohnacky’s knowledge-intelligence platform, built on a simple conviction: your notes and documents should think with you.

Fresh off the launch of Alani Connect and a MAIN Q&A, bundleIQ is the index’s most actively covered company — and its founder one of the scene’s most consistent community builders. Profile →

Juxtapose — not a VC, not a studio. Juxtapose evolved from a classic venture studio into a hybrid model that blends venture capital, platform building and private equity, developing concepts and pairing each one with a CEO to build it.

This year it co-created Latitudes with RSE Ventures and Related Ross, an initiative using West Palm Beach as a hub to build technology companies along the New York–South Florida corridor. The thesis: the next great companies here won’t just be found — they’ll be built. Profile →

BootUp Studios — the bet that AI’s disruption cuts both ways. Chandler Malone’s Miami studio builds an AI operating platform for founders — advisors and agents that let one entrepreneur do the work of a full team.

Launched in August, already signed Morehouse College as its first institutional customer, running a pilot with the University of Tulsa, and selected for Puerto Rico’s Parallel18 accelerator.

Asked why he built BootUp in Miami, Malone — a resident here for five years — said the answer was obvious. “Miami’s economy is built on entrepreneurs and small businesses, and Bootup Studios is built for entrepreneurs and small businesses,” he told MAIN. “The economic drivers behind the city are the types of entrepreneurs we support, making it the perfect incubation ground for what we built.” Profile →
