Miami’s doxx.net has $38 million to build agentic networking, a private network that people and their AI agents share.
Andreessen Horowitz led the Series A. Animo Ventures and Focal.vc also participated, the company said.
Joel De La Garza, a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, joins the doxx.net board.
The company also opened the beta of its Agentic Defined Networking platform, known as ADN.
What Is Agentic Networking?
ADN lets people and their agents create their own private, secure networks. They can communicate with no servers in the middle.
Users start with no personal information. The company says accounts are created through proof-of-work, so no email, phone number or username is needed.
Agents get what humans get on the network: their own network identity and private channels to their users and each other.
They can also build the network they run on, through a full network API with native MCP support.
The company frames the problem as security. An agent can meet a fake login page or a malware-hosting site while acting with its user’s data, accounts and authority.
doxx.net applies DNS-level threat protection that blocks known and emerging malicious destinations before an agent or person connects.
The company says it has blocked more than 38 million threats in closed beta since December 2025.
What Is in the Product?
The release lists a set of features. Peer-to-peer communications offer encrypted calls, video, chat and file transfers with no communications server.
DNS protection combines 30 filter lists with a neural network. Covert networking uses six protocols designed to make private traffic look like ordinary web browsing.
Anti-fingerprinting masks browser and device details. Onion routing sends traffic through multiple servers so no single point knows who a user is and what they are doing.
The platform also offers 196 custom top-level domains and its own certificate authority.
Native apps exist for iOS, macOS and Android, with Windows and Linux supported.
Barrett Lyon’s Argument
Founder and CEO Barrett Lyon says the industry sells privacy as a feature. He argues that it rents the infrastructure underneath.
“We physically built something different: a platform where privacy comes from the architecture itself, not a policy document,” he said.
The company says it runs on its own IP space, DNS root, certificate authority, local AI models and bare-metal servers.
“They know what you search, where you go, and who you talk to. We don’t. And we built the network so we never can.”
De La Garza made the investor case. “The internet was never designed for privacy,” he said.
He called the platform a network “private by architecture, not by marketing promise.”
Who Is Barrett Lyon?
Lyon has founded several security and networking companies that others later bought. The company’s release lists four.
Prolexic, one of the first DDoS mitigation networks, went to Akamai. BitGravity went to Tata Communications. XDN went to Fortinet. Defense.net went to F5.
Akamai acquired Prolexic in December 2013 for about $370 million, according to Wikipedia.
Lyon also co-founded Netography, which Vectra AI acquired in 2025, per the same source.
The release says he has worked with law enforcement to track extortion crews across continents.
Lyon also described the first call on the network. “That was our first freedom call.”
Where doxx.net Sits in Miami’s Security Field
The release is datelined Miami, and doxx.net lists a Miami headquarters.
MAIN has covered the city’s security scene in five Miami cybersecurity AI firms holding the line.
Our Q3 2026 tally counted Comp AI, which raised a $34 million Series A. It also counted Cantina, which raised $8 million for an agentic security platform.
MAIN also covered a Brickell startup, TrustedRouter, which raised a $1.25 million seed round for a privacy-focused AI router.
What Comes Next
The beta is open, and the company says no account is required. Developers can have an agent visit config.doxx.net.
The bet is that agents will need networks of their own, and that users will want to own them.
