No coding experience required, just curiosity. Miami Dade College's free AI bootcamp for teenagers is back, and it's bigger this year.
Miami Dade College is once again partnering with the Mark Cuban Foundation for its AI Bootcamp for high schoolers. This year's program expands to two campus locations.
Where the Program Is Growing
The bootcamp will run out of MDC's AI Centers at both North Campus and Kendall Campus. That's a direct expansion from prior years' single-location format.
No prior coding or technical experience is required to apply. The program is built for students who are simply curious about how AI is shaping the world around them.
The Schedule and How to Apply
The free bootcamp runs over three consecutive Saturdays this fall, October 31, November 7 and November 14.

It's Not Just a Miami Program Anymore
The Mark Cuban Foundation's reach extends beyond Miami-Dade this year. The Cox Science Center & Aquarium and Palm Beach State College will host an identical free bootcamp too. It runs in West Palm Beach on the same three Saturdays.
That parallel rollout means South Florida teenagers now have two regional entry points into the same free AI curriculum. Not just one.
Why This Program Keeps Coming Back
Miami Dade College has built a broader AI strategy over the past year. That spans its new Applied AI degree track for adult learners to this recurring high school bootcamp for younger students.
The bootcamp fills a specific gap in that strategy. It gives teenagers a no-cost, no-prerequisite entry point years before they'd otherwise encounter AI coursework in a degree program.
What This Means for Miami's Future Workforce
A free Saturday bootcamp won't turn every participant into an AI engineer. That's not really the point.
This region is already grappling with how AI reshapes entry-level jobs. Giving high schoolers early, no-cost exposure to the technology is a small but concrete bet. It bets on who gets to shape that future locally, rather than just react to it.
